Fast compact short tele lens - perfect for portraits! Advanced state-of-the-art optical design, featuring flourite glass, an aspherical surface, and floating element to improve sharpness in the close-up range. The result? Crisp, contrasty images, even at full aperture, with bitingly sharp definition. MTF curves show almost 100% contrast at f2, right to the edge of the frame. Indeed, it's so well-corrected, there's virtually no improvement at f5.6! Comprising seven elements in five groups, the lens uses special glasses, including types originally developed in the famous Leitz glass laboratory. Close focus point is 0.7m (2.7ft), giving a reproduction ratio of 1:7 - in comparison, the 90mm f2 and f2.8 lenses focus to 1m, giving a reproduction ratio of 1:9. This means tighter head shots with the new 75mm f2.
