Lumix GF1 Micro 4/3 The World’s Smallest, Lightest Interchangeable Lens Camera

By using the Micro Four Thirds System standard and developing a camera body that eliminates the mirror box and optical viewfinder unit, the DMC-GF1 was able to achieve the world's smallest, lightest body as a system camera with a built-in flash. It also features classical, but new artistic flat design. This new-generation system camera features Full-Time Live View, high-speed Contrast AF, HD movie recording, and more. It is small enough to take anywhere, yet sophisticated enough to take you as far into photography and movies as you want to go.
The DMC-GF1's 4/3-type Live MOS sensor with 12.1-megapixel gives you the high image quality. It also adds a high-speed readout for HD movie recording. The Dust Reduction System helps maintain image quality by placing a Supersonic Wave Filter in front of the sensor. An image processing LSI, Venus Engine HD, incorporates two CPUs. This does not only boost image processing speed, it also helps achieve an exceptional noise-reduction performance. Also, it allows long-time movie recording in AVCHD Lite while maintaining low power consumption.
The DMC-GF1 can record HD movie of 720P in AVCHD Lite with high sound quality of Dolby Digital Creator. Motion JPEG format is also available (1,280 x 720 pixels). Just press the Motion Picture Button, and shooting begins. In the Motion Picture P Mode, the aperture can be adjusted easily. The iA Mode can also be activated in motion picture recording. When the DMC-GF1 is connected to a Panasonic VIERA via an optional mini HDMI cable, the TV's remote control unit can be used to enjoy playing back with greater convenience.
Leica M9 Full Frame Digital Rangefinder Camera £4850

Leica Camera AG today announces the world’s first digital rangefinder camera with a full-frame 24 x 36mm sensor. As the world’s smallest full-frame system camera, the LEICA M9 continues the long heritage of the Leica rangefinder system, and unites more than 50 years of continuous technical improvements to the M System with cutting-edge digital technology.
The 18 mega pixel image sensor, specifically designed and developed for the M9, enables capture of the full 35-mm film format without any compromise. All M lenses mounted on the LEICA M9 therefore offer the same focal length as originally intended, and the enormous potential performance of the current M lens portfolio, with focal lengths from 16 to 135mm, is now fully exploited in an M digital camera for the very first time
The LEICA M9 features a new, microprocessor-controlled, particularly silent, metal-leaf, focal-plane shutter that enables shutter speeds of up to 1/4000 seconds. This means that the photographer still has complete creative freedom by using selective focus at maximum apertures, even in bright situations. The short flash synchronizations speed of 1/180 seconds enables daylight flash exposures with selective focus.
The CCD, specially developed by Kodak for the LEICA M9, has been optimized to exploit the particular qualities of the Leica M lens system. As a result, the LEICA M9 achieves the highest resolution values, which in turn guarantee outstanding image quality.

The DMC-GH1's 4/3-type Live MOS sensor with 12.1 megapixels gives you superior image quality with low power consumption. It also adds a high-speed readout for recording HD movies. You can record images with 4:3, 3:2 or 16:9 aspect ratio. In each, you get the same angle of view and same outstanding image quality. The Venus Engine HD incorporates two CPUs. This not only boosts image processing speed but also helps achieve an exceptional noise-reduction performance. Also, the two CPUs allow long-time movie recording in AVCHD with low power consumption
The DMC-GH1 kit is equipped with the LUMIX G VARIO HD 14-140mm/F4.0-5.8 ASPH./MEGA O.I.S. lens. This compact lens boasts a focal length of 28-280mm (35mm camera equivalent) and supports a continuous AF function that works for both photos and movies. New Leica D-LUX-4 - F2.0 24-60mm LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON Lens £590
Leica 10.1 - Megapixel 24-60mm Wide-Angle Zoom Premium Digital Camera

Leica announces the D-LUX 4 digital camera system. This new camera, similar to the Panasonic LX3, offers a high-aperture lens that allows you to work with an open shutter. Its high speed makes the D-LUX 4 ideal for available light exposures. The D-Lux 4 can take photos in all three formats (4:3/3:2/16:9) to suit the particular recording or playback situation. On the spacious 3" LCD monitor with a resolution of 460,000 pixels.
The LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens 1:2.0-2.8/5.1-12.8 ASPH is a high-aperture lens for digital compact cameras that allows the real enthusiast to work with an open shutter. The lens design consists of eight elements, of which four are aspherical. At a standard resolution of 10.1 megapixels, the overlarge size of the 1/1.63" CCD image sensor increases image quality distinctly. The smallest details of the subject are reproduced exactly.
Leica C-LUX 3 -10MP 25-125mm DC Vario-Elmarit ASPH F2.8 - White £299

An ultra fashionable, slim-line metal camera, the Leica C-LUX 3, combined with its optional colour co-ordinated cases, just oozes style.
Not only does the Leica C-LUX 3 look great, but it allows for carefree high quality photography. The operation & function design concentrate on the real essentials. Owners can now capture more of those all-decisive moments via innovative auto functions. This camera is about spontaneity, where users are not distracted by elaborate menus.
But, as you would expect from Leica, substance has not been forsaken merely for style. Compared to its predecessor there is a wider 25 mm "space grabbing" initial focal length & a longer zoom up to 125mm (both 35mm format). With a very creditable f2.8 starting aperture & a 10 mega pixel sensor, this camera can really hold its own. In addition, Leica has developed its own unique colour matching, contrast & picture definition profile, which produces digital picture characteristics complimentary to Leica M film photography.
On auto, the camera combines many individual functions including OIS image stabilization & improved face recognition whereby focus & exposure values are automatically adjusted to the faces in the picture. With no preparation, a "grab shot" which was previously technically challenging, can now produce sharp, exposure compensated, images of people’s faces within a scene.
